The Tabb High School PTSA has sponsored the After Prom Grad Party for the past 17 years.  After Prom is a drug and alcohol free party held annually to complete the prom celebration.  It is open to all senior students and their dates at no charge. Students are not required to attend the prom to participate in the After Prom Party.  The After Prom Grad Party is held  at the Victory YMCA from midnight to 5 a.m. (immediately following Saturday night’s prom).

 

Tabb High School has a strong reputation for having one of the best After Prom parties on the Peninsula.  We would like to continue to provide this fun, safe celebration for our seniors.  The budget for this party is typically around $13,000.  Fundraising efforts take the form of donations from parents and businesses, car washes, senior flag sales, and others as needed.  Parent and student assistance is always welcome in these fundraising plans.

 

One of our goals is to provide our students with opportunities to earn money to help pay for their after prom party.  Funds raised by each class are saved in an escrow account for use during their senior year for their after prom. Not only does this provide a sense of ownership and accomplishment for the students, but it takes some of the financial burden off the parents!

 

The After Prom Committee consists of sub-committees such as fundraising, prizes, decorations, game/casino workers, chaperones, publicity, food, tickets, and set up/clean up.  Many wonderful volunteers from all grade levels have already signed up to help this year, but additional volunteers will be needed to maintain the quality event that we have all come to expect.  Working at the after prom is a great way for underclass parents to get to know more about the party without being responsible yet!
